Hello World, welcome to my new blog, which will feature vegan and gluten-free recipes created in my little kitchen in New Zealand!
My name is Jana and I live in New Zealand. On this blog I share my own vegan and gluten-free recipes. Since moving from Germany to New Zealand, I have re-discovered my love for cooking and baking. Now that I’ve collected so many recipes over the years, I decided that it is time to share them! And there are more and more to come 🙂
I first went vegan in 1998. In 2013 I realized that I’m gluten-intolerant. At first I thought my diet would be very restricted. But then I started to learn the basics of vegan & gluten-free cooking and baking. Soon after, I created one yummy recipe after another. At the same time I had a critical look at my sugar consumption. The more I read about sugar and its negative impacts on health, the stronger was my motivation to go sugar-free…
I have now been gluten-free and sugar-free for almost 2 years, and definitely don’t wanna go back! I have never felt as healthy as now 🙂
When it comes to food, I believe that it should be as least processed as possible. I try to use very small amounts of starches and oils. Whenever possible I buy organic, seasonal and bulk to reduce my waste and the impact on environment. All my food is made from scratch whenever possible. It just tastes so much better!
When I’m not in the kitchen creating new recipes, I love to hang out on the beach (and in the water), go cycling, rock-climbing, hiking, camping or tending to my pretty little organic vege garden.
Things that I love: all colors and flavors of veges and fruits, MUSIC (where would be be without it?), art in general, appreciating the little things and walking my own path…and much more, but I don’t wanna bore you 😉
